We have two new items this month from Karen’s Botanicals. We’ve added Exfoliating Cleansing Grains made from ground flower buds, oatmeal and brown rice. It works really well, and smells so great. I’ve been mixing it with the Lemon Mint Cleanser. We also have Calendula Rose Oil that is great for diaper rash and other skin irritations. It makes a great facial moisturizer, and bath oil as well.

The beeswax candles are coming along pretty well. They are looking and smelling great, I just need to find larger wicks to get a better burn pool. It has been a challange to find the right one, but I’m having a great time making them. It’s so fun for me to do something crafty. The kids are loving it too, and are happy to smell each candle! I’m glad they can be a part of the process.

Happy New Year!

Hi there! I hope that your new year has started off well. Things are good here and there is a lot going on. We have some new skin care items from Karen’s Botanicals and Purple Prairie Botanicals. Cleansers, a scrub/peel, natural pimple treatment, moisturizer, bar soaps, and lip balms. You can see them all in the What’s New section. I hope that you like all of the new items.

I am starting to make beeswax candles! This is something that I’m really excited about, and I can’t wait for you to see them. I found a local source for beeswax, and I have a local potter working on some candle crocks for me. There are glass containers too, and the candles will be scented with essential oils. I’m hoping to have them on the website by February. I’ll keep you posted.

Product Spotlight: simplyneutral All Purpose Cleaner

I’ve been cleaning like a madwoman lately, using my FAVORITE non toxic cleaning product, and I thought I should have the Product Spotlight for October be about the All Purpose Cleaner by simplyneutral.

It is a great all purpose cleaner made not too far from me, by a Work at Home Mom. Maggie created her simplyneutral line after she developed allergies and irritation to standard cleaning products while cleaning homes for a living. She worked very hard to create a product that works SUPER well, but isn’t irritating in any way to anyone.

It works so well on everything! I used it on all my countertops, the toilet, tub and shower, it also cleans glass and mirrors well too. I’ve even used the concentrate in the dishwasher. It makes the glasses SPARKLE!

Here’s my list of things that I LOVE about it:

I love that it’s made right here in the USA ( Becker, MN ), by a Work at Home Mom.

It’s a plant based formula that breaks down rapidly, which is safer for the environment.

It contains no petroleum-based compounds, phosphates, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), dyes, or synthetic fragrances making it ideal for people with allergies, asthma, and multiple chemical sensitivities (MCS).

October Specials

October has arrived and this month our family favorites are 10% off. We do love all the products we carry – otherwise we wouldn’t carry them – but these are the standouts. You can find them all listed on the home page. 

October is a great month to get out to your local apple orchard. There are so many fun things for the entire family, not to mention all the great treats. All About Apples has a great search. Check them out and have some fun!

Another thing – a lot of people spend time around bonfires this time of year. I feel the need to share something with you. Apparently people are making smores now with Oreos. I have been making  mine with the fudge striped cookies, which is awesome – but I will definitely be trying SmOreos next weekend when we are up at the cabin. I’ll let you know how delicious they are!

Product Spotlight: Mama K’s Aromatic Play Clay

 

I was so happy to stumble upon this great play clay. It’s a great natural alternative to traditional play doughs. Once I found out that some traditional play doughs contain PVC and phthalates, I decided to start shopping for a healthier alternative. I was lucky enough to find Mama K’s. Her formula is certified gluten-free, it’s 100% biodegradable and compostable, it’s scented with organic essential oils, and gets its color from vegetable colorants. I also love the fact that it’s made by a Work at Home Mom.

We’ve been having a lot of fun playing with the play clay. It comes in a pack of 5 including:
